Project 5 — starting
The ASPCA already has a pretty good website. Amanda said we can do a non-profit with existing branding but I think it’ll be harder for me to come up with a redesign (or to make it different enough from the original). The same with SPCA of Central Florida. They have a beta version of a […]
4/2/13 — Week twelve
We broke into two groups and critiqued the other group’s comps. Then we talked about project 5 and 6. Projecet 5 is a landing page and sub page for a non-profit/charity/cause. The landing page needs a large image with a strong message. I was thinking I’d do either America Cancer Society or ASPCA. Project 6 […]
Project 4 — everything…
I haven’t posted anything since we were assigned project 4 and it’s due tomorrow. So here’s everything in one fell swoop. (Except wireframes because I don’t have a scanner and the photos I took were horrendous. I’ll scan them at school tomorrow morning.) Comps are uploaded to Valencia web studio. sitemap logo color & type […]
3/19 & 3/26/13 — Week ten & eleven
I had to miss class last week and this week there is no class. Still working on the Craigslist redesign. From what I gather we have to take the user through buying and selling something; and the Orlando main page. A lot of my time has been taken up trying to figure out ActionScript. I […]
On a related note…
For my other class (Fundamentals of Interactive Design — basically a class about Flash) we’re creating a book website for our fourth project. I chose Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. comps the site so far I just started to test the flash site. My idea is that you have all these […]
Project 3 — finished comps
I feel really good about this design. It feels like an actual website. Edit: My comps are ftp’d to the the Valencia Web Studio and here’s my process book (PDF).
3/12/13 — Week nine
Project 3 and the process book is due this Saturday. Our homework is an HTML/CSS refresher. The HTML Doctype defines the document type or what version of HTML the document is using. Three examples of HTML elements: <body> — everything that’s displayed goes within the body element <img> — is used to add images <a> […]
Project 3 — comps
Steadily moving along on this project. I’ve put together what the homepage will look like. There are still some tweaks to do. Overall I want the design to be pretty flat (no gradients or drop shadows). I might do a version that has those things to see if it compliments the layout. At the very […]
Project 3 — wireframe thumbnails
A couple quick ideas for the Renninger’s redesign. Each location page (Mt. Dora, Adamstown, etc.) is like a mini-site with it’s own navigation considerations. So there’s some problem solving required to figure out how to display that.
Project 3 — even more studies progress
logo color study I’ve decided on Sansita One for the typeface. Adding color to the logos helped me see which one worked best. It’s a retro shape, with retro color. The logos with the borders feel more vintage (older) than the retro feel I want for the site. color, type, logo, inspiration Here’s is the […]
